Patrick Kariuki, Managing Director at GenAfrica Asset Managers, was awarded the Paul Sigsworth Significant Contribution Award on 29th May, 2025.

Patrick Kariuki began his distinguished career in 1996 as Head of Finance Operations and New Product Development, marking the start of an impressive 20-year journey that has led him to his current role as Managing Director of GenAfrica Asset Managers. This remarkable trajectory stands as a testament to his experience, expertise, and relentless pursuit of excellence.
With over two decades of leadership in finance, accounting, compliance, and investments, Patrick has consistently championed the highest professional standards at GenAfrica Asset Managers. A qualified CPA and ACIB-certified banker, he combines technical acumen with strategic insight to drive growth and innovation.
Patrick Kariuki holds a Bachelor of Education in Business Studies and Economics from Kenyatta University, where he also served as Treasurer of the Blak Blad Rugby Football Club; an early display of his leadership and financial stewardship. He further honed his expertise with an MBA from the prestigious Edinburgh Business School, solidifying his foundation in business strategy and management.
Beyond his executive role, Patrick has made significant contributions to Kenya’s financial sector. He has served as Chairperson of the Fund Managers Association and is the Founder and Chairman of the Kenya Association of Investment Groups (KAIG), a position he has held for 17 years. Under his leadership, KAIG has become a vital platform for investment groups across Kenya, fostering networking, best practices, and profitable investments through structured, value-driven initiatives.
His commitment to social impact is equally noteworthy. As a Trustee of Challenge Aid Africa, he supports 51 Schools of Hope and 8 Virtual Learning Centers across Kenya and Tanzania, driving transformative education, mentorship, and community empowerment in underserved areas.
